How does OPTIFAST work?
Optifast VLCD uses an established medical technique - a very low calorie diet (VLCD) - for rapid weight reduction. Reducing your calorie intake to below 800 Kcal (3344kj) per day means your body draws its energy from your own fats stores. Quite literally, you live off your own fat.
Optifast VLCD contains carbohydrates, essential fatty acids and high quality protein which helps to preserve lean body mass (muscle) while you lose your fat stores. It has been designed to be the sole source of nourishment and therefore contains the recommended dietary intake (RDI) of vitamins, minerals and trace elements.
Optifast VLCD is designed to totally replace your normal food intake
Very Low Energy Diet: Replace all meals with three sachets (54g) per day. Additionally, 2L or calorie free fluids and 2 cups of low starch, green vegetables should be consumed.
Optifast VLCD Dessert can also be used in combination with Optifast VLCD Milkshake.
Soup - Vegetable
This delicious Vege flavour soup is one of six products in the Optifast range. It is nutritionally complete, high in fibre and has a low GI. Each pack contains 8 x 46g sachets. To use: Add one sachet of Optifast to 200mL of hot water. Do not use boiling water. Stir to dissolve. If desired, more water may be added. Alternatively, add one sachet to 200mL of cold water, stir vigorously, heat gently on the stove or cover and microwave on high for one minute. You can also add your 1 cup of healthy chicken to your soup to make a delicious and healthy chicken and vegetable soup.
